Three extra-small covers in organic cotton, printed with the Mushroom design in blue, mustard, and olive. They fit everyday bowls: the cereal bowl with half the porridge left in it, the prep bowl of chopped onion you are not ready for yet, the jar of oats going into the fridge overnight.
The hem is elastic, so each cover pulls over anything roughly 13 to 17 cm across. Uncoated cotton lets moisture out through the weave, and a ferment sitting out on the worktop still gets air. The set goes in the machine whenever it needs it.
The cotton is organic and pre-shrunk before anything is cut, so a cover that fits the first time still fits after a year in the wash. Each one is hemmed with elastic that grips a range of bowl sizes.
The designs started as stamps carved by hand, and they are screen-printed onto the cotton now, in food-safe ink.
Three home industries in South Africa make them, run by self-employed women who work from their own houses and take on relatives and neighbours as the work grows. It was organised that way from the start, around people with caring responsibilities who set their own hours, and the business holds verified membership of the Fair Trade Federation.

Machine wash cold or warm, then air dry or tumble dry. Use an unscented detergent, since cotton takes up a scent and the cover sits over food.
Everything we sell is made by hand, so colour, pattern, size, and shape vary a little from piece to piece. That’s a normal part of the craft.
