Three covers in organic cotton, each a different size and printed with the Leaf design. The smallest caps a carafe or a ramekin, the middle one goes over a jug or a snack bowl, and the largest takes a cereal bowl. Between them they handle the small jobs you would otherwise tear off a sheet of cling film for.
Elastic in the hem pulls each cover down over its rim, from about 9 cm across up to 17 cm. They suit dips and sauces going into the fridge, a half-used tin, or a glass of something you mean to come back to. Uncoated cotton lets moisture out through the weave, and everything goes in the machine when it needs washing.
The cotton is organic and pre-shrunk before anything is cut, so a cover that fits the first time still fits after a year in the wash. Each one is hemmed with elastic that grips a range of bowl sizes.
The designs started as stamps carved by hand, and they are screen-printed onto the cotton now, in food-safe ink.
Three home industries in South Africa make them, run by self-employed women who work from their own houses and take on relatives and neighbours as the work grows. It was organised that way from the start, around people with caring responsibilities who set their own hours, and the business holds verified membership of the Fair Trade Federation.

Machine wash cold or warm, then air dry or tumble dry. Use an unscented detergent, since cotton takes up a scent and the cover sits over food.
Everything we sell is made by hand, so colour, pattern, size, and shape vary a little from piece to piece. That’s a normal part of the craft.
