Pretty practical

Most of what’s here you’ll use every day: a large coffee mug that holds enough that you’re not back in the kitchen in ten minutes, the spice jar and wooden spoon you reach for when it’s your turn to make dinner, and the fruit bowl you’re always refilling.

These pieces don’t just stay in the kitchen. Toss a coaster on your dining table, side table, or office desk, and just keep it there. Our wooden boards are great for serving bread, rolls, and pastries. And, of course, what’s a pizza night without a pizza board?

Some pieces, like eggcups and jugs, sound more like Sunday breakfast, but they could also make your Tuesday mornings feel a little less like Tuesday mornings. Add a woven placemat and a colourful plate, and the breakfast table’s set with time to spare before the tram.

Weeknight ready

Wednesday dinner doesn’t need a tablecloth. Put down a couple of placemats, bring the salad out in the bowl that’s been holding fruit all week, and that’s the table done. Our woven placemats will take a dish straight from the oven, so there’s nothing to hunt for at the last minute.

Once the clocks go back, you’ll be lighting candles before you’ve finished cooking. A dinner candle or two is the difference between eating under the ceiling light and still sitting there an hour after the plates are empty.

Cloth napkins are the smallest change with the biggest return. Keep eight in the drawer and a Tuesday table starts to look like you planned it. They go in with the rest of the wash, and one set will last for years.

Eating outside or waiting for everyone to get to the table? A cloth dish cover goes straight over the bowl, and lifts off and back on again without the fuss of cling film.

Whoever’s cooking gets the apron and the oven mitts. They’ll pick up stains and a burn mark or two eventually, but that’s how you know they’re doing their job.

When people come over

For the friends who turn up and end up on the sofa, load a wooden board with cheese, bread, and whatever’s in the fridge, and carry the whole thing through. Grab a woven tray for the glasses so you’re not making multiple trips.

For the sit-down meals and special occasions like Christmas dinner, bring out the tablecloth, the table runner, the cloth napkins, and a row of dinner candles down the middle.

Whether ’tis the season or a housewarming, most of the pieces here make excellent gifts. They’re memorable, practical, and come with a story you can tell over a glass of wine.
